2015 Jurors

Bob Workman, Wichita, KS

Bob Workman is director of the Ulrich Museum of Art at Wichita State University, and leads all aspects of the museum’s planning, programs and operation. The activities of the Ulrich provide meaningful encounters with the art of our time for everyone. Prior to his arrival in Wichita in January 2013, Bob was director of the Flint Hills Discovery Center in Manhattan, Kansas. This science and history learning center celebrates the bio-region of the Flint Hills of Kansas through dynamic interactive exhibits and educational programs. Bob and his wife Liz are native Wichitans who earned their bachelors’ degrees at Wichita State University. Bob earned his Masters of Arts in Art History and a Certificate of Museum Studies from Boston University, and attended the prestigious Museum Management Institute, a program of the Getty Trust. He has been a curator at the Museum of Art at Rhode Island School of Design, deputy director of the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth, Texas, and was the founding director of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas.

Bernadette Bradshaw, Wichita, KS
 
Ms. Bradshaw received her art training from the College of Visual Arts in St. Paul, MN with emphasis on fine art and illustration. Bernadette works in several mediums including fiber, watercolor, and soft pastel. Bernadette’s fiber work has been featured in an exhibit in Orleans, France, The Ohio Craft Museum, The Birger Sandzen Gallery in Lindsborg, KS and multiple galleries and shows in Kansas and Minnesota.   Bernadette won the 2007 Botanica poster contest as well as top honors at the 2005 Art Show at the Dog Show. Her watercolor painting entitled “Waiting for Bernie” won Best of Show, First Place in watercolor and Best Kansas Artist. She is the first Wichita artist to win top honors in this competition in the 22 years the competition has been held and her original painting now hangs in the American Kennel Club museum.  Several local and national publications have included photographs of her work including the Wichita Register, The Wichita Eagle, and FiberArts Magazine.  Two of her fiber pieces were included in the international juried compilation of artists for the “FiberArts Design Book 6” published by Lark Books.
